NUHW

Last week Josh resigned from his job. Although it is a little scary not having a steady flow of income, I could not be more proud of my husband. For six years he has put so much of his time and energy into providing and helping health care workers in Northern California be given the rights and opportunities that they have deserved. When SEIU (his former employer) was taken over by the union officials from Washington D.C. they asked their staff to lie, deceive, and neglect their health care workers by not giving them democratically elected representation. So, Josh and along with most of the staff resigned. NUHW has been created now to overpower SEIU and form a new union. If all goes well, it will be a historic and impressive feat. Josh has been dedicating a lot of his time in progressing this movement (while not getting paid!). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can pull it off :).

For you locals, there may be something about the struggle on the news tonight, as they are having a big rally in Oakland tonight.
